From Cebu City, you'll have to take a bus to reach Hagnaya (takes approximately 3-4hours). From Hagnaya, you'll have to ride a barge (takes approximately an hour) to reach Bantayan Island. Upon arrival, there are many multicabs/pedicabs that you may hire to bring you to your resort. For some resorts though, they'll prepare a van for you. For us, we stayed in KOTA BEACH RESORT. The resort is very much affordable with aircon-rooms that costed us only Php 2,500 (take note: we were 9, we had only one room and had extra beds). Definitely, the resort is highly recommended.
There are many restaurants in Bantayan Island, all very affordable. There are restaurants that offer international food and native food. There are buffets there too.
Sta. Fe is a small municipality. As for us, we just walked to get from the hotel we're staying in to the restaurants. Kota Beach Club also has its own restaurant. In fact, we had our first meal there.
An overnight stay in Bantayan is not enough for there are many places to see. You can also visit other beach resorts with minimal entrance fees. Also, include in your itinerary the churches in Bantayan and the public market.
